CBH is honored to be selected as a recipient of new behavioral health workforce grant funding that will help our team members pursue their educational goals. This investment will support staff with education-related expenses so they can continue to grow in their careers while strengthening services for the people we serve.
Announced by Governor Tina Kotek, the Behavioral Health Workforce Education Grant Program is distributing $4 million in funding to 26 organizations across Oregon to support scholarships, tuition assistance, loan repayment, and stipends for behavioral health providers. The program was created to help recruit and retain a strong, stable behavioral health workforce, especially in communities that face persistent access challenges.
At CBH, our staff are at the heart of everything we do. Every day, they walk alongside individuals and families experiencing mental health challenges, substance use disorder, developmental disabilities, and homelessness. Supporting their education is one of the most meaningful ways we can invest in excellent care.
Grant funds will be used to help eligible staff with education-related costs such as tuition, fees, and other approved expenses tied to behavioral health credentials and degrees. This support will make it easier for current and future team members to advance their skills while remaining in the communities they serve.
