Project Intercept
The Intercept Program is part of the EASA project and aligned with Mid Valley Community Mental Health. It is designed to reach transitional age youth, generally between the ages of 15 and 26 who are beginning to experience signs and symptoms of psychosis. Generally this disorder manifests itself during this time frame and can be quite devastating to clients and their family members. If caught early, aggressive outreach, family support and medication can lessen the effects of this disorder. Special funding is available for those who qualify. This program works with those experiencing the initial phases of psychosis. The program is not able to accept those who are experiencing psychotic symptoms because of substance abuse issues or limited intellectual abilities. The program is proven to be effective in helping to mainstream these young adults and keep them away from traditional mental health treatment. This program relies on collaboration with our occupational therapist in addition to medication and case management services.
Yes there is hope and with understanding and family involvement, there is stabilization and recovery.
