About Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare

Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare has been providing services to the residents of Clatsop County since 1964. Our main office is located in Astoria , Oregon and we have recently opened a satellite office in Gearhart , Oregon to better serve the residents who live in the south county area. We provide short term counseling to adults, children and families.

Some of our clients with more persistent mental health issues receive longer term treatment via case management and medication management services.

Some of the services we provide include:

• Group Counseling

• Family Counseling

• Case Management

• Psychiatric Assessments (for treatment purposes)

• Medication Management

• Crisis Services

• Peer Run Support Groups

• Referral to other Community Partners.

In Clatsop County , mental health services are separate from Alcohol/Drug and Developmental Disabilities programs. Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare provides the mental health services to residents of the county. Life Works provides alcohol and drug counseling and Columbia Community Mental Health oversees and provides numerous services to the Developmentally Disabled.

Primary funding for mental health services comes from two primary sources: Oregon Health Plan (OHP) and the State of Oregon . Currently, no local or county monies are available to help supplement mental health services to County residents. CBH also accepts some insurances and private pay.

Applicants with no coverage and limited resources may be eligible for subsidized services at a reduced rate for a short period of time. Those who qualify for this would be asked to make an agreed upon co-payment at the time of service.
